About the Authors
Jack and Julee Meltzer are full-time RVers and occasional campground hosts that travel throughout the United
States in a 34 foot motorhome. They share their RV with two German Shepard dogs and three adopted cats. Much
of their time is spent writing and researching information for their upcoming books. Jack was previously a
mechanical engineer, software executive, and technical writer. Julee’s background includes managing technology
companies, writing, and professional photography. When she isn’t writing, she teaches digital photography
seminars and writes for a number of national magazines. They are passionate RVers and believe that the full-
timing lifestyle offers many advantages for people that enjoy experiencing new places and meeting interesting
people.
Their first book Camping and RVing with Dogs was based on their observations that even though 70% of all RVers
traveled with a dog, there was virtually no detailed information on the subject. In addition, their research indicated
that a growing number of dogs were getting lost, injured, and even killed while camping and RVing. The reasons
are varied but one fact is clear—most of these incidents could have been avoided with a little insight and a few
precautions.
Their other goal was to create the first comprehensive directory of pet-friendly parks and campgrounds. As full-
time RVers with dogs, they often found it difficult to identify campgrounds that would accept their two German
Shepard dogs. The directory contains thousands of locations and is used by RVers everywhere.
Their second book, The Smart RVer’s Guide to Saving Money is a downloadable e-book that was written in
response to the growing demand for proven ways to alleviate the rising cost of RVing. The 30 page booklet is
downloadable from their website. Loaded with hundreds of ways to save money, The Smart RVer’s Guide to
Saving Money even includes a section on ways to make money while RVing.
Their most recent book, The RV Makeover Bible, was based on more than two years of research, interviews, and
information gathering. The book includes tips, ideas, and advice on one of most popular activities performed today
– remodeling and fixing up RVs. As a former mechanical engineer, Jack used his experience and background to
explain and illustrate how RVs can be fixed up and remodeled in every way imaginable. As a professional
photographer and writer, Julee takes many of the photos that appear in the book in addition to co-authoring the
304 page book.
